This could be a dream, but I remember in 2nd grade we had some psychologists come into our classroom to deliver exciting news: someone in our class had been predicted to be the next most successful person.
We all looked around with astonishment and excitement. Wow, really? Could they really know that?
Then the person gently guided us towards the real intention of the their visit and said, “so take a look around, we can’t tell you specifically who it is, it could be someone to your left or right, but don’t forget that it also could be you.”
By this time audible gasps could be heard in our little classroom as we examined our internal narratives. We all knew we had it in us but this professional telling us with such certainty gave us the ultimate inspiration and confidence.
If it was a dream it has just as much potency as a vague memory. Either way, a little message like this, as odd as it sounded at the time, could be a primer to actually believing in ourselves and the contribution we can make.
